Testers' Ratings
The new Völkl Racetiger RC proposed for the 2019/20 season is stable and focussed on medium and large turns. All of our reviewers confirm that stability and performance are the fundamental characteristics of the German product. "This ski is stable at high speed" (Francesca Rudisi), "it stays put on the ground if you don't stop controlling it" (Laura Jardi), it is "very stable throughout the bend" (Lorenzo Medici), it is "stable both on snow banks and on blown snow" (Giovanni Manfrini). The downside of this performance is a structure that is too heavy for the Allround Tourism category, which makes cut handling difficult (Alex Favaro), and it becomes "difficult to pivot, also because of its front part, which is a little heavy" (Laura Jardi), "not very manoeuvrable in small spaces" (Francesco Tavella). In short, it's a little too difficult for the average skier that it's aimed at. In particular, its rather challenging entry into turns discourages skiers in their technical progression. This product is therefore recommended not to intermediate skiers but to those who can already manage curves correctly but who aren't looking for an overdeveloped ski. For skiers looking for a ski that's the only one for sliding on-piste and is stable in big curves.
