Testers' Ratings

Elan Ripstick 96 is an All-Mountain/Freeride ski that behaved very well in the NeveItalia's Freeride review according to our reviewers.

"The perfect ski" according to Lena Attorresi who praised the ski's great design from tip to tail, finding no weak points at all. Very precise and stable, with excellent flotation, Alex Favaro added, pointing out that the Ripstick 96 is also good on the piste as it has great edge grip, not often found in this type of ski. For Mattia Tosello and Paolo Pernigotti, the ski's strong points are its stability and responsiveness.

Bergamasco found the ski beautiful and fun, with a shape that's more like a pure Freeride model, in other words, well designed and high-performing for every type of snow and all conditions, at maximum speed and on steep slopes. Alice Gabasio found the Ripstick 96 very easy and fun. Great for newbies first steps off-piste, but also excellent for on-piste skiing.

Weak points mentioned by the reviewers included the tip which is too soft, causing some chatter, especially when ridden fast according to Tommaso Guasco, Nicola Sertorelli and Ronaldo Bertolina, while Alex Favaro found the ski unwieldy in off-piste rides, with excessive chatter at the tips when out on the groomers.

Elan’s Ripstick 96, tested at 181cm, is an excellent All Mountain freeride ski and will be a real friend for off-piste days in fresh powder. It's also good for freeriders that enjoy freestyle rides as the ski behaves well in the airborne and landing stages, with a rigid tail that helps to support it. A multi-purpose, intuitive and high-performing all-mountain freeride ski that can also be used on the piste, ideal for male and female riders of every level, but also excellent for ski touring trips with skins and in backcountry rides.
