Testers' Ratings

This fun Fish-like Freeride is wonderfully easy to ride, owing to its precise, smooth carving talents. A fish board that can keep such a sharp edge in long turns is a rare find.

The cornerstone of Amplid's Centrifugal Quiver series, a plethora of high-grip carving boards, the Surfari is the Freeride of the bunch. Like its fellow models tested this year, it has evolved slightly with stronger, more high-end performance. It does indeed flow beautifully in all terrain, flawlessly absorbing the bumps. An incredibly comfortable ride with great on-snow feel, this board retains its top spot. We were delighted to find the same precise, efficient carving, expressing itself in smooth lines, and a great tail response generated by very clean deformation through turns. As resilient and high-performance as ever, with awesome acceleration, this version of the Surfari is a fun and interesting option for riders who like to carve and weave around in powder.
